Looking for unwanted Fake wooden eggs for hens to sit on

You can also take a store egg, poke two small holes in it and blow out the insides (or syringe them out of one small hole), then fill the empty shell with plaster of Paris.
 
I've always used golf balls. I haven't noticed any preference for the different brands, either. I do like the florescent orange ones, though.
