Swollen comb on my Rooster

I have a bantam Cochin also with a gray, swollen comb. Wife noticed it swollen earlier this week, but now it's gray and maybe more swollen. She's been very broody the last few weeks and just got back to normal yesterday, other than the comb thing. We try to keep broody girls in the garage at night and during our workdays with a few hours of yard time in the evenings.
I will monitor and report if anything interesting happens. My first thought was an abscess. Never dubbed a chicken before, would not like to start now.

So dear wife and I managed to hold the tiny hen still enough to prick her gray and swollen comb. A few drops of blood came out, but it didn't feel like an abscess about to pop or anything.
She seemed happier after we were done, so I think we did relieve some pressure and she actually feels better. The comb is healing fine.

well, the comb continued to swell until it started to squeeze her eyes shut, so we dubbed her 3 weeks ago. Didn't do a great job of it since it was so thick at the base (much wider than her head). But the wound healed nicely and the swelling reduced for a couple weeks.
However the nub of comb began to swell noticeably once the scab fell off. It now looks like she has a ball growing on top of her head. It is also squeezing her sinuses, or something, so that little bubbles are continuously emitting into her right eye. I'm pretty sure she can't see out of it anymore.
We took her to the vet and he biopsied the mass. We shall know in a week, but he said it's either an infection (he gave us antibiotics), an inoperable skin lesion which might be helped by anti-inflammatories, or an inoperable tumor.
We shall give her the anti-biotics until further notice. She's still laying and scratching and doing all normal chicken things, she does seem more listless than her sisters at night. We will keep her around unless she's obviously in terrible pain and stops eating. She's such a pretty bird, our proper and prim hen.
