I keep my horse at a place where this older woman runs and it has about 30 horses there. The lady is in really poor health, and really does not have much in her life besides the care of these horses, social owners, and a nice Hubby.

Lately, my horse needed 14 days of antibiotics and an oral salt water swish, which she did. She also put my horse on chopped hay and wet feed for 2 weeks. (Tooth removal). This is truly above and beyond someone who just boards my horse. She also helped me today with my mare who refused to have her feet trimmed. So she will be helping me retrain my mare to not be a snot about her feet .

I just don't know what to do. I have so much appreciation for what she's done. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do or a gift for her?

Money, of course, is an option. But you could also get her dish towels or bath towels with horses or farm designs on them. Coffee or tea gift sets are nice too. I wonder if feed stores sell gift certificates - that would be a very useful gift for her.
One of my favorite gifts is a "throw" type blanket that I received from someone. When it gets cold, it is the perfect thing to cover with while reading a book or watching tv. A nice pot of flowers is an idea too. And include a thank you card. I'm sure she would appreciate it. Sounds like she is a wonderful person to trust your horse with!

These are all perfect things! Love your ideas!

I think you've given me some good ideas for gifts. I know money is a good thing, and I think for as long as she helps me with my mare's &^%&**^%$ feet, I think I will put it on my husband and pay her for lesson time for it because my hubby is paying for it.
