are these rabbits in pet shop pure angora rabbits??? helppppp

"Pure" is a relative term when you talk about Lionheads. The mutation that causes the Lionhead coat only popped up about 20 years ago, in Europe. There haven't been zillions of Lionheads imported into this country, so most of the people who want to breed Lionheads have been outcrossing to a variety of other breeds (mostly Netherland Dwarfs).`The Lionhead has only recently been accepted by the American Rabbit Breeders Association, so it now has an official breed standard in this country. The standard clearly describes animals with a double mane; there are lots of Lionheads out there that have two pedigreed parents, and only a single mane. In other words, it's hard to tell, just by looking, whether your rabbits are "pure" Lionheads.
