Right / wrong / perfect / imperfect

Now folks, I was reading in one of my Hobby Farms mag. today and it hit me like a rock.As we all venture in our quest to raise our chickens. We all from time to time need a question answered from either here, thats why we joined at first, and then we found friends. Thats the cool part for me, or have our questions answered else where, from reading or our Vet. Now there is alot of debate that seems to be related on what products seem to work best in our coops floor.This is where it hit like a rock.We must remember, when we ask some of these questions we are going to receive personal opinions. That does not mean your getting wrong advise. But keep in mind you will need to find what works best for you. For example, I have had many strokes since 2005.I am home all day. So I clean my 6 coops and runs every day.Before I got sick I would not even have chickens because I wasn't home all the time to take care of my babies. I use the very find pine shavings in my coops and a very light mist in there runs. My runs are small, and it smells great. We live in town. so I clean more than if we lived in the country. But not that much less. To help keep our birds healthy and happy we must also do our part.If you go into your coop. and you smell that chicken stuff smell. your coop is dirty. Thats the bottom line.Now I have a hard time to remember things at times.Since I have 6 coops, that means I have 6 waters and feeders. So I put a number on each of my coops and I numbered each water and food dish so I would make sure they got there dishes back to the right coop.My coops are not fancy but they work. thank you for letting me ramble and I will send pic of my coops.God Bless Mark @ Donna.

I agree - what works for YOU may not work as well for the next guy. Sounds like you have an organized system. Love to see pictures of your coops.
