That's awesome news! Congrats to you and Gold Dust.

So glad to hear it! Thank you for updating us!

I found this next to my front door the other day. Not sure what it is, but it's been sending me messages of the "dead horse head on your pillow" variety.
I've found 3 dead birds in my backyard, and lost one 6 week old chick through some fencing. I thought it was one of my dogs. I don't think we have raccoons, but we definitely do have cats.
This looks like a hair ball with the tail/feathers still intact at the bottom left. The dark stuff is wads of dark hair. There are two uneaten feathers places around the hairball in a circle. The grass was pushed down the way crop circles are made.
Anyone have any idea what it is? Or want to post my picture for me on a new thread? I don't like making new threads.

Gold Dust has turned out to be a wonderful loving momma! I am so proud of her! Thanks!
Subhanalah,
Sounds like it might be a cat. I have heard if you play a radio during the hours they are unsupervised or not in coop it should keep the stray cats at bay. Worth a try! Hope your chickens stay safe.

Gold Dust's adopted babies are growing up fast!! They are almost 3 months old! I believe we lucked out with three girls and one boy. Sweet lil thing has a scratching lil crow already. He makes me laugh in the mornings trying to talk back to Bad Hair Day. ( grown rooster) I lost my two RIR's to a cat that is no longer living in the bayhead's on each side of the property!! Then this past week another cat got the rooster that cooped and free roamed with the chickens. So my dislike for cats I already had is heightened even more!!! The poor rooster was a bit chicken, pardon the pun, but we could at least walk outside with him around and feed him. Maybe a protective and nice rooster is hard to find.
Here is some pictures of the chickens. I thought I was getting 2 Brahmas and 2 Americanas ?spelling? But I think the lady became a lil confused when I said a BO was going to be raising them because I am almost sure 2 are BO's. I love them already though as they are as sweet as Gold Dust and come up to me when feeding them and talk to me and like to be petted like her!! So all is well. The other 2 on the other hand are very skidish and unsure.

This is all 4 of them. Gold Dust is just walking out of the picture.

This is the male Ameracana. Gold Dust is walking away from us and the two BO's. They are twins at this point. I haven't seen a difference to know who is who yet.

This is the female.
