If you think about it, we kind of owe it to chickens. They have been our survival food for so long, we have an ancestral relationship that (in my mind) enables each species to survive. Chickens taste delicious. We breed chickens because they taste delicious. We are happily fed, and some chickens have gotten to the point that they don't even have to be able to "do the deed" naturally because of us.

Anyway...I'm pretty sure there was more to that, but it's hard to follow on my phone complete thoughts! Constantly having to backpedal to fix something. I shouldn't complain. Lord forgive.

Okay, so. I was able to read my post...All at one time.

And this is what I've come up with.
We need to work on behaviors of roosters to find out what it is that is their reward system. And in this case, it's progeny, right?
Well, perhaps the actual change that can be made, is having a male role model show them how to be and not be all hormonal and learn to control himself. I believe in chickens. First we have to figure out how to communicate that to them in their own language. Like...chicken psychology. Are chickens as pets not there yet? Lol. Maybe just a behavioral science or something, chickens obviously benefit from us propagating them. But doing it in the wrong way produces problems.
Maybe that's not true, I've seen people say some pretty bad stuff about the genetics of a lot of high production layers and it's tragic. That's a messed up way to go, and it's heartbreaking to the empathic. Or sympathetic. Everyone has different experiences. Anyway...that's kind of a tangent.

Very similar to other breeds of animals that are taken to the extreme and it just seems to make them...weak? Sick? But we love those kinds of dogs.

Anyway, guess we shouldn't really go into that..it could lead down a very dark path and that's not even what this post is about.
