Hey all--new Scovy mom here. I have scoured the web trying to figure out what my new babies will look like as adults. Their mom was white and the drake was piebald. What will the two with all brown heads be? What about the two with the brown strip on their heads? Thanks so much!

We're they kinda blue at birth because I had some brown babies like they weren't like the black kind of brown they were more of an off brown an they turned out blue! But they were bluish when they hatched so they turned brown

U said that the mom was white, well white is co dominat with black so most likely u have pied babies!

So if I have any other questions ask me or pm me , I've had almost every color of baby possible

~~Thanks Buck, I don't know if they were blue at birth as I bought them at about 3.5 weeks. Here is an updated picture now at 7 weeks. I think two will be pied, and the other two might be barred (it is more apparent on their bellies).

I'm pretty sure there all pied, pied can come in many forms and patterns, to have barred the duckling have to be yellow with a black bill and black feet and not just some black it has to be all black

Not sure where you got your info on barring, but yellow ducklings end up being all white as adults. Muscovies are the only duck breed I have ever seen barring in. They also come in rippled, which is very similar but does not fade as feathers age (after molt). Ripple is similar to lacing in chickens. I have had both color patterns.

I've bred barred muscovies so I know what they look like ( pardon the sass)

I breed them as well, but I have never once had a muscovy hatch with a completely white body & then turn barred. They all turn white, regardless of the color of their feet. I have, however, had every muscovy thad had the eye stripes & tops edge of the wing light colored (marked like a mallard/rouen) turn out to be barred regardless of any of the rest of the colors or markings. I have had barred in black, chocolate, lavender & lilac. The babies in the OP are definitely chocolate though. They will not turn black when they are a definite brown color even from hatch. Not sure if the color is off in your monitor, but mine shows a definite brown color to those ducklings.

I would be interested in seeing these white babies grow out (weekly pix) to see how they feather in. I'm always open to learning something new if they are indeed going to be barred.
