New Pekin Ducklings! One is a little too quiet? -EDIT: SICK DUCKLING

So, I made sure I said good night to the little one last night, and I'm glad I did...she died while I was asleep

Poor thing is in that big duck pond in the sky now.

I feel so terrible, I can't help think I should have noticed earlier or could have done something to maybe help her pull through...but sometimes they just aren't bound to make it right?

What could have caused this? If I can put a name to it it might help alleviate how much this stinks. I would be worried about the others contracting the same thing but they couldn't be more energetic and seem healthier.

AAARRGGGHGHHHH why are duckling so hard to keep!

Yeah, that makes sense. I'm just not sure if it's worth it...I mean, finding out what happened could tell me if the other two ducklings could get sick as well, but they seem so so happy and healthy and energetic I feel that they'd have shown the same signs of being unwell already? Obviously no one can know that. But plus I'm not sure if I like the thought of my little duck being cut up...I kind of want her to rest in peace, you know? So torn...

If I can find a university or somewhere that will perform a necropsy for free, is there a strong reason for getting it done and having her cut up and sewn back together?
