I am getting chicks and my plan is to separate the roosters ASAP from the pullers and fatten them up with garden veg and feed and I am wondering how old can u take the roosters away from their mummy to put them with light or without red light

There is a poison in potatoes that I have read is bad for chickens. I haven't tried feeding them that but it may be best not to. I'm not sure what a courgette is but I fed my babies soft things like watermelon and tomatoes at week 1.

4 weeks is when I'm able to take away the lamp during the day. It all depends on the climate. If they have feathers and its a nice day outside you should be fine.
