I have a 2 year old black Swedish drake and 4 2 year old hens. When he breeds them he is real mean to them. Is this normal? He will pull feathers out of the top of their head and hold their heads to the ground long after he has done his business. We have a kiddie pool for them to swim in because I heard it was better for breeding if they were in water but he refuses to use it. My girls love it but he won't go near it. This is my first year with ducks.
