Ok. Five days ago and I went to tractor supply and I saw this little chick.(crook crook) and she looked dead. She wasn't but she looked like it. She couldn't move and other chickens were stepping on her. It turns put she had a deformed beak and she's slightly blind because sh only has one eye and it doesn't work to well. Anyways she wasn't able to eat on her own, or even drink. So me and my mom take turns feeding her and giving her water with an eye dropper. So far we've used baby formula with chicken feed. I think there is something better than that I can give her. Can you think of one? Also she has gotten a lot better over time. She has troubles walking, (she can it's just hard). Her beak is actually is a sissor beak. Well is there anything that anyone can think of that can help me with her? Thanks. She also, has her own album if you look on my account.

I can't help sorry. But I have a chicken that was also born deformed. Not as badly as yours though. She has 1 wing. We named her Nemo ;-)
Hope she manages. Well done for what you have done so far. Many people would have just culled her.

we have one lame one. We don't coddler her-- she'll live or she won't. But we didn't cull her, either.

I got her own on 4/12/14 and before she couldn't do anything. Everyday she does better than the day before but everyday she has a few moments where she doesn't do too good. Her improvements are chirping, responding to your voice, and can walk a little. Most the time she just lays down with her head slumped almost to the ground. But she has gotten a lot better over time.

Well, being a under chick rescuer myself I will say that the chicks I've taken in that have been trampled on, have not made it. I would venture to guess that's because their bones are soft for the first couple days and they end up with too much damage to their organs, lungs, digestive track, etc. when they get stepped on by the others. Do you know how old it is?

No, I'm not so sure how old she is. I think she was born a little wierd but I think your also right about being trampled crushing their insides. We'll keep on fighting on for her like. And also thank you starkist72.

Definitely keep trying! If it still has some fight then there's hope. Is it able to take any solids yet?

I'm so sorry everyone. She just died. She might be knocked out, but I think she's dead. Maybe we over-fed her or she just choked. Or I jinxed her with this message but she probaly happier now. Maybe she just wasn't meant for this world. Or this wasn't her right time to be alive. I don't know. But what I do know that she was smart. She looked funny but she was a smart chicken, also very sweet, she loved to be held. RIP baby I love you. Thanks for trying to help me and her everyone she fought hard to live on. Her life wasn't the happiest so now she can still be happy bye bye crook crook. My sweet special chick.
