Carport to Coop/Run Conversion

Great coop! :thumbsup I'm in Texas, and built an open air coop out of two stalls in our barn. Very similar to yours. I also love your bucket feeder. I built the same one for my chickens. They just love them! Very little waste.
Where in Texas? I am in the Houston(ish) area. Hubby bought me a carport (w/metal storage building on the end) for Christmas. The company said 4-6 weeks. Dying with anticipation ,but making plans... How does the Deep Litter method set up?

How about a little thread revival??

We just got our carport installed on Friday and since we live in SC, we'll be doing something a bit similar to this, with some additions to handle the "colder" weather we get up here. My husband is curious how you built the doors. Do you have any input on it? Pictures may be enough for him, if possible.

Thanks so much for sharing this too! It's a great build :)

I think your coop is amazing!!! Love it sooooo much! I wish here in Ohio I could do something like that but my girls would freeze. lol I'm re-doing the coop and run this spring. I'm a first year chicken owner so learning from my mistakes.

We are still working on the carport coop. It has electricity, lights, and a ceiling fan. The coop is wired all the way around up to 5feet. One side is enclosed with plywood halfway along.

Well, we're getting closer. I've finished painting the back & side walls. Plus we framed the front & put up hardware cloth. It is hard to see, but there is hardware cloth over the openings above the back wall as well. Our coop has two doors because we later plan to put up a fence that starts at one corner. Two doors will be more convenient down the road. Tomorrow I will finish the roost.

Where did you get the tubing for the doors and framing? I’m wanting to do this but finding components seems difficult.
