help please

Hello im new to this site today. I have had chickens for quite a few years and not had any problems. As our brood is growing i decided to purchase some new houses for them. I looked on preloved n found the ones i wanted. Iv just brought them home tonight n unloaded them off the trailer n my husband,myself and our poor friend who helped us are itching like crazy and are covered in these tiny grey almost transparent mites or lice. What are they? Do they hurt us? What do i do to get them out of the chicken houses? Last thing i want is to giv them to my girls!!!!
 
Thankyou for your help. Unfortunatly they looked like none of them!! Im going to local petshop today n going to get some strong insecticide and start cleaning them straight away. Still feel very itchy today tho from them yesty. Perhaps its more the thought than anything!!
 
Search for Permethrin 10 on TSC site. Or use this search phrase ( Permethrin-10 Livestock & Premise Spray, 32 oz.) Link works on my end.

The 10% permethrin spray or a dust like prozap garden and poultry dust will likely be the best bet, the liquid should have a dilution amount for poultry in the directions, mine is 1 part of the liquid to 99 parts water, spray down the coop well and repeat in 10 days, you can spray your chickens with it too if you need to.

I don't know where you live but I bought mine at Mill's Fleet Farm, they are in Northern WI, MN, IA, Dakotas. Tractor Supply Co, Blain's Farm and Fleet, any stores like that will likely have it as well as any good feed store

Thankyou all for your advice. We live in England in the county Norfolk. We have purchased some poultry shield. A strong insecticide that we have sprayed inside all the houses and are going to repeat again nxt wkend. Hopefully none of our birds hav picked any mites/lice up but got some powder for them just to be sure. Once again thanks
