My chickens are eating dog poo! Is this normal????

My girls have killed a few mice, that I've seen! One always ends up with the prize and eats it whole! And I meant to say, my chickens don't intentionally eat dog poo, but I'm sure if they would eat it if we left it around.

Chcikens eating dog poop is a perfectly normal behavior.

My dogs also eat chicken and horse poop. Chickens eat horse poop (no access to the dog poop here for the birds), so I'm guessing that this is all normal. EXCEPT... beware what might be passing through.

I'm sorry my comments bothered some. They weren't meant to. Yes, I can tell some of the replies were jokes and I did think they were funny and amusing. However, I don't think the original poster was joking, and there are actually many folks that read these postings that never become members and some of them will be giving or feeding their eggs to people who have compromised immune systems. Some small portions of life are sometimes serious ... sadly ... like getting a bad case of salmonella poisoning. A few of us worry about stuff like that. I had no intention of raining on your parade by taking life too seriously. Sorry.

I believe safety aught to be a concern especially salmonella it's not good for a dog to eat other dogs poo poo or there own you feed them sweet potatoes from a can or if you eat out and yours is use to getting bites of your food then get a roast beef from Arby's put 3 times spicy sauce on sandwich 1 packet every other day this animal want eat his poop or a other dog's poop anymore
