I have a 9 day old chick and she has a bad leg she is in some pain and was wondering if there was any pain meds I could give her?

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about your chick, hope you get an answer over on the Emergencies forum. Do you know what is wrong with your chick's leg? MSU has the following for aspirin in water http://msucares.com/poultry/diseases/solutions.html
"Dissolve five (5 grain) aspirin tablets in one gallon of water. Offer this solution free-choice to the birds for the duration of an illness. The solution aspirin equivalent to 25 grains/gallon or 324 mg/gallon of drinking water. The dosage rate is about 25 mg/lb body weight per day."

Glad you joined us! Good luck with your chick!

Thank. I'm not sure what's wrong with her but she has weak muscle and a swollen hock and does not like to sand on it.

You might want to start another separate thread in the Emergencies section about her leg, if you can take and post pictures it may help figure out what is going on. Has she had problems with the leg since she was hatched or is it a recent development? Is there any injury that you can see to the hock?

I got her from my school we are rasing chicks and we got to see them on day 5 and she looked ill so I took her home and saw she had leg problems. Her legs are weak and she doesn't want to put pressure on one of the legs and the hock looks red and swollen. I don't know what happened. She is also very tired all the time.
