Miss bawk bawk here,
I adopted 9 Australorp,( now 8, not sure what happened, others are fine). One Rhode Island Red, named "Helen", and three weeks ago I was given 2 Buff Orpingtons. All hens, just want eggs no chicks. I collected 6-10 eggs a day,I was content.
Then I noticed 2 very aggressive hens, that would peck and chase the others. I mentioned this to my partner who took it upon Himself to surprize Me with a rooster," Don Diego" who He assumed would take care of the aggressive ones.
So,.... now I'm dealing with "brooding hens",in just under a week of Don Diego's arrival!
I've been getting tips from this site on how to deal with all areas of chicken raising/care. The advice and in- put I receive from all of you either through questions or/and answers has been oh so helpful, thank you.
