New; don't know what to do

Anyone have any experience with bees that nest underground. In the run, the bees have little holes all over the place. Every time I put food out (other than grain), the bees are all over the food. They look mean; small, dark, noisy and long. I don't like them. I'm in SE PA I feel like moving the coop, but I think they will follow. Any one know anything about how to live with these bees?

Annoying things this time of year. Some suggestions in this article http://www.gardeners.com/how-to/yellow-jackets/7700.html One interesting method, I've never tried. http://www.motherearthnews.com/organic-gardening/control-yellow-jackets-technique.aspx#axzz2XXkpjgDH Some people just use soap + water and pour it on the nest, but I've found with insecticide, it works better. Not the most environmentally friendly method maybe, but the easiest way I've found to get rid of nuisance yellow jacket and similar nests is by taking a bottles of "Flea Shampoo" for dogs with Pyrethrins or something similar, diluting with water, and just pouring the whole thing on/in/around the nest after dark, well after dark. I'll usually use a bottle or so and five gallons of water... or if you have one big entrance in a bad place, take a five gallon plastic bucket with a small hole in the bottom you can plug/unplug, pour the shampoo/water mix in and put the bucket over the main entrance hole to the nest, most of the stuff will soak in around there and even if it is a really big nest with a lot of entrances they will move away from that entrance at least. Probably any liquid insecticide would work, just usually have the shampoo sitting around and the soap in it seems to help it stick.

Oh Kelsie2290,
Thank you so much for your advice and the helpful links. I knew I had some Dr Bonners peppermint oil soap, so I follow that with hot water. WORKED LIKE A CHARM, and I can feed the hens right on top of it. I am still finding new little holes all over the run and an occtional wasp will come over, but they (the one or two that drop by), quickly leave. I will treat the other holes tomarrow just to make sure. But I can feel the hens feeding much more relaxed (- it was awful). I can't thank you enough.
