The Anxiety Chat Thread

It's amazing how many people have anxiety. I have been suffering with PTSD most of my life and it causes me to have really bad panic attacks. My anxiety doesn't come out in a normal way however. I feel very sick to my stomach when my anxiety is bad and I can't eat anything. My anxiety has been horrible for the past week since I came down with a sinus infection. Everything I normally do to stop the attacks doesn't seem to be working. Only thing that comforts me is having someone distract me and try to talk me through it. There are so many people with anxiety but when I'm having an attack I always feel like no one else in the world understands me. I have been put on Celexa and it has helped a lot until recently. Looking for a different medication which may help more.

I get sick feeling as well when I have attacks. That is actually one of the first signs that one is coming on for me.

I took peroxotine for a year it worked well but I also felt like a zombie and as a writer I felt it was blocking so much of my feelings. I now just have an as needed med for when I feel an attack coming so I don't have to be on a daily med that messes with me too much.

Hi, I do not have anxiety, but I would love to try to help those who do have it. I suggest trying this: put your hands together so your palms are touching. You can clasp your hands, or whatever as long as your palms touch. Then breathe really deep breaths for 10 seconds. Try it a couple times a day. You never know, it may help. Plus, it's 0$ and can't harm you.

It's amazing how uncomfortable people seem to get if you share that you have an "emotional" disorder.. Taking meds for your mind seems to make you a freak in many peoples eyes, like they are afraid its catchy. it creates isolation when one of the best ways to deal with anxiety and depression is talking about it.

Would someone be able to share their anxiety/depression story with me and how DUCKS have majorly improved your life? I am giving a speech to my community board and trying to convince them that ducks should be allowed as pets, I don't want to give up my ducks they're so important to me :( thanks guys
