My beautiful goose has just laid her egg number 100!

She's exactly 14 months old today and started laying in October. And aside from a six week break in January/February, she's been laying faithfully ever since. I can't believe she's such a good layer; I've never heard of a goose laying that many eggs in less than eight months.

She's happy and in good health. 96 of the eggs were perfect, only four have been shellless.

Very Nice, is she Chinese Goose?

You should provide oyster shells in case she needs extra calcium for egg production.

She does have unlimited access to oyster shell, and she's eaten about three pounds of it so far.

She's not Chinese, she's a White Danish. White Danish is a local Embden type breed, and I just heard this weekend that they were originally bred for laying. I don't know if it's true; it's been really hard finding information about the breed, since they're only bred in Denmark.

Dang! You kept count of the eggs? I'm impressed! Let's see a photo of this lovely lady.

Haha, not only that. I also weigh each one - the 100 eggs accumulate to 29 lbs. of egg!

Here she is, trying to convince me she's way cuter than those newly hatched runner ducklings:
