Best Pool For Ducks

I was thinking about making something like this but with a bigger tub and going for about a 2 ft deep tub. Do you think this would be to big and that I should just get a bigger kiddie pool? They are 2 months old now and my only concern was that the pool is really too small for them to both get in and splash at once.

That is clever, i have that size for my calls, they just fly into it. Now my only worry is the ramp, most ducks dislike them. depends, i have a lot of scovies and they climb walls(almost lol) so easily get in/out of things some other breeds don't.

Here my big pool... again i also have troughs.. one really BIG and 50gal and 40Gal.. but my um, plump pekin only use this and the sandbox... now that holds 4 although i have seen almost all get in there lol (6 total)

I think I am going to go with a pool like this and build them a little ramp. I was thinking about getting something from the tractor supply store but their big tubs in the size i need were about $125! I think this is large enough for both of them to use during the summer especially when temps are up in the 90s! I do plan on keeping my little kiddie pool for them in their pen so that they can splash around and drink at night. Thank you all so much

Not be a negative nelly but i HATE, HATE Those pools lol they are snap lock types, i tried some for my kids eons ago.. they never ever stayed up and could collapse so easily.

I agree with Going Quackers. These pools are pretty inconvenient. I started out with one of them, and it was problematic. You have to have it perfectly level, otherwise one or more sides of the pool will collapse. Also, my ducks figured out how to bend the siding over to create a water fall... very entertaining for them, but they dumped so much water; to the point that the sides collapsed in.

Luckily they are pretty inexpensive, so you could give it a shot. Maybe it will work differently for you.

I don't think it gets better than the kiddie pool. Right now I am using plastic totes (the lowest and widest ones I could find), pretty small for my flock, but they don't seem to mind it.

Update!
I purchased this today snap up pool and after getting it filled and getting oh so excited about putting them in their new big pool I realized they weren't able to get in themselves (oops) so we wrangled them up and put them in the pool and needless to say they darted out as soon as we set them down, very comical, we came back out later to try again and this time they absolutely LOVED it. Splashing around and diving all over the place. We've built them some stairs to help them get in and we already knew they could get themselves out after the first failed attempt. It was so great for them I actually had to get in and make them get out because it was getting really dark and they still wanted to splash. Thank you all for your comments and helpful advice! This pool won't last forever, it might not last a long time, but they're loving it right now and it was about $18 so everyone wins

Very cute! just ensure they can get out, ducks can drown, a little fact most don't realize..

Hi,
I have a very unique duck and by unique I mean he thinks he is a dog. He is always barking and when he sees me he starts to move is tail like if he was happy to see me(which I think he is). Anyways I wanted to know which is the best pool for my adult duck. Here I have a picture so that you can have a better idea of what I need for him.

i had problems with that kind of pool to flimsy but if you don't fill it all the way they will learn to flop over the side to get in

What do you mean grown out of the kiddie pool?

In my experience ducks don't like too deep of water actually, and prefer a few inches of water with dirt, grass, foods, bugs, etc. In it to eat and play with. They don't really care about swimming.

If the ducks can both stand in the pool and turn around it should be big enough. They can still get themselves very wet in a shallow pool :)
My ducks LOVE to swim. They dive down under the water and swim all around. I only have 4 right now and they are 4 weeks old. I want to get them a bigger pool when they get a little older.
