because i kept changing my mind. Anyway i changed it to 4 blue polish and 6 silkies for the same price as 8 silkies! Anyway they are coming in 2 days! I will post pictures as soon as i get them in the brooder! (this is my friends account, i couldn't get on mine, forgot the password)
Cool! Love to see some pics!

Well this is an older thread but I'd love to hear what you got in your order!

I was reading some other threads and it turns out Ideal sometimes gives you extras and they ARE NOT always roo's! I'm ordering bantams so if I get extras I hope they are some kind of bantam breed!

Hi sorry guys i will post pictures now! I have been so busy! Here is what i got, exactly what i ordered, 6 assorted silkies, 4 blue polish, and i got 5 extra packing peanuts(male rir) This is the best hatchery i have ordered from, none of mine died or anything! I was so pleased! All the chicks were happy and healthy, I didn't have a single one die! The #1 best hatchery i have ordered from! I am ordering again soon!
(rhode islands, the extras)

4 polish!

my beautiful silkies!

All of them together!

I ordered from Ideal back in July and was pretty nervous about the whole thing. We received 8 adorable little assorted silkies and 9 ( RIRs) peanuts. I managed to find homes for the peanuts, thank goodness. I am happy to say that I am pleased with Ideal Poultry.
9 1/2 weeks now

1 wandered off... lol

I've done several orders from Ideal; mainly because I don't have the room for 25 chicks at one time (as some hatcheries require) and the shipping charges from Ideal are very reasonable, even for smaller orders. Never lost a chick from this hatchery.

I have someone who will take the "packing peanut" chicks off my hands as he will raise them for food for his large family. Sadly, life isn't so good if you're a rooster.

P>S....forgot to mention....If you do not wish "packing peanuts" (i.e., extra male chicks) with small orders you can purchase extra insurance from Ideal for very inexpensively (often just a few dollars more than your order) and they will add extra packing instead of these males for warmth. They will point out that if ordering during very cold months Ideal will not be responsible for any chicks that do not survive because of this.
