But there are 2 less of those nasty suckers! Had one chase my DD's corgi. Good thing that dog was fast!
We were heading to DS's prom and saw one come out against the skyline. That .22-250 I bought has sure paid for its self. Only problem is I forgot to change the scope for the darkness of dusk, but did hit that sucker.

DS got one with the shot gun about 20 feet from our bedroom window. Hubby shot at one 30 feet from our front door but missed.

Had a coyote hunter come out this winter and try calling them in. He said there are at least 3 different packs around our place. Said he had 3 coming in when his kids stood up to see if anything was happening with his new call. Oh well stuff happens.

Whoa...that's crazy.
My son would LOVE to help you hunt coyotes...but we live in South Carolina.

What is the hunter using to call them in...rabbit distress?

No season here to hunt coyotes...they are considered a nuisance.

There is no season here either. Where are you at Kazfam?
Forgot my gun yesterday and saw 2 more coyotes. One took off but the second one just stood there! Would have been a perfect shot.
Yeah a rabbit distress. He said it was a new one he just got and wanted to try out.

Upstate South Carolina.
We have coyotes all around us but they have not bothered our coop yet. Our neighbors have had issues with coyotes - they free range their birds that venture to far into their sheep pasture and get eaten. We are more careful where our birds wander.

We have also noticed young deer carcasses in the woods...so I think the coyotes are satisfied and not interested in the chickens right now.

Ever hear them at night yipping and yapping en masse? Kinda creepy, huh?

Too bad you didn't have your gun...what do you use?
Son would use his AK.

I have a .22-250. I bought it a couple years ago from a friend who had it built as a predator gun.
