I think I have a broody hen sad.png. We don't have roosters so she's not going hatch anything. She has been in one of the egg boxes all day yesterday and all night last night (as far as I know). She was in the box all day today, with no egg. I finally scooped her up and put her outside the coop to run around with the rest of the girls. Sh e went back in the coop about 40 minutes later, but went into a different egg box- there was no egg in there.
I read the link posted in this thread and I'm willing to try the brooder breaker cage, but I have one concern. It's been in the low 20s at night and the girls usually huddle together on the roost. I'm worried that my broody hen will be too cold at night and die all alone in the brooder cage. Or will she be okay?? We do not heat our coop, and it is the perfect size for six chickens. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Try moving her out of the nesting box each time she hunkers down in there, you'll hear funny clucking noises from her but if you do it a few times she may get the message and give up.

I've been moving her out every time she goes into the nest box, but she goes right back in 😠
