I wanted to know which mainland hatcheries ships 1 day old chicks to Honolulu, Hawaii. Do I need, import permit and certificate of veterinary inspection for the chicks? How much does the permit and certificate cost?

Thanks. I bought 10 feathered feet bantam chicks(about 2 weeks old) from a pet store for 14.99 each plus tax. I know the pricing(including shipping) per chick on ideal poultry is significantly lower(about 1/4 the price) than the one in the pet store before I bought them, but I decided to buy them, since the pricing might be reasonable, if the cost of the certificate and permit is included. I still want more chicks, and I hope that the cost is significantly lower than the cost of the chicks on the pet store.

It certainly will be considerably less per chick than what you paid. Of course there will be shipping charges (I don't remember how much they were and they will probably have gone up anyway). Two advantages of ordering from Ideal is you will have a lot larger selection of breeds and you can order all pullets (at least on standard breeds, probably not on bantams) if you want to.
