This is what a Buff Orpington roo crossed with a Barred Rock hen looks like.
She was hatched 8/2/2019 by her mother.
She is a great egg layer, friendly, smartest hen I have, and best hen I have.

I can't see the photos, they won't open but I bought some cross chicks today and one of the mixes would be buff orphington rooster to a RIR hen. Several of the chicks have darker down then the full BO chicks and some have a head stripe and a darker back stripe but pretty normal RIR down color and then the others have slightly lighter down and only a dark dot on their heads, some have a few dots (like three tops, right in top of head) feet are same color for both and their beaks are the same for both groups. What ended up being your sexes? I was wondering the same thing when I started sorting this clutch of chicks I purchased, in whether or not this some kind of subtle sex linkage? Curious if you've repeated it and who was who? Clearly what you described with yours is what I appear to have here for the same cross....
