I'm planning on getting some SF LF in the spring. The feed store I get my birds from order from Ideal. Does anyone know someone in the Conroe/Huntsville,Texas area who breeds them. Thanks

Have You tried asking on the Faverolles thread. Am thinking there must be a Texan thread since i belong to the Washington thread. I think that pasofinofarms (BYC) may be in Texas and has WoNDERF'uL Faverolles.  I don't mean to mention Ideal but it seems that several of the non-Salmon Faverolles colored birds that have been posted were said to have come from Ideal. Good Luck…….eliz

Mine ended up losing the very last of the black only after their first molt. Now they are nice salmon hens!

Thank you for that news SpringPeeper! I bought three faverolles - 2 pullets and 1 roo. The girls when they first grew feathers in were looking dark but now as they grow more are looking lighter and more pink. Does that mean they will be lighter colored faverolles fully grown? What do you think?

My pullets coloring usually don't change much.

Glad I found this old thread.  I also ordered two Salmon Faverolles from Ideal at the end of August and one of my four week old pullets has a light chest whereas the other one is coming in dark.  Glad to know it may not be a roo.
