Greetings from the cold north country!

From the Northwest corner of Dakota 'territory'.

I already have pigeons (color bird/racers)  My 'interesting' colors are R.Red, blacks, indigo.  'Speedy' birds in the regular hues.

Hopefully, will have a small herd of Dominiques, sometime next year. After much researching, seems to be the breed most suited to our climate and my personal preferences.

In the process of building on forty acres of rocky hills and 'duck ponds'.  Mixed grass and legumes and weeds.

Will need to contend with all of nature attempting to eat my birds.

Hubby, kids, grandkids.

pigeons of racing type in the usual bars and checks, plus racing type colorbirds(black, splash, RRed, indigo, dom opal).

Two old retired show cats.

Dominique chickens.

NW North Dakota.  Dang, it's cold here.

Welcome to BYC!  Sounds like you've really got your work cut out.  Make sure you take as many steps as possible to predator proof your flock.  You might want to take a look at BYC;s section on Predators and Pests at http://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center/tag/predators-and-pests/  Good luck in getting your Dominiques.
