Just awaiting some trim and then paint when the weather warms up. The original coop was 8x8 and the new addition added 12', making it 8x20 total.

Actually, I have a small nursery coop inside a storage shed nearby that has 22 one-month-old chicks in it. Naturally, about half of those are cockerels so they will be leaving, except for one blue orpington I plan to keep as a breeder. So, soon the coop population will double and then later in the spring possibly even more will be living there. I made it so it would hold about 40 chickens. They range during most days so there will be no crowding issue.
That window is a really nice one that cost me $10! It's a heavy double paned one, too. My husband knows a lady he works with who is married to a contractor and she sold me the little window you see in the front of the original coop last year, too. When I went back to her, they didn't have any more of the white, divided-light ones, just this one, which is 3'w x 4'tall. That's okay-just meant I could put in one instead of two or three!
I'll post more pics when all the trim and paint is complete. Hopefully, the building will look like one long cohesive structure then.

Cynthia, looks great. My summer project is to either build another coop or add onto my exzisting one also.

I want to get some more chickens, but don't have extra room. Once you get started you just can't stop, too much fun!

You said it, too much fun! I'm having a blast with my Girls and my Hawkeye. And the little ones coming along will add to the wild times at my Chicken Asylum!

***Got the nestboxes completed today with scraps we had around here and one of the Silver Laced Wyandotte girls laid her egg in one within ten minutes of completion!
Here they are finally:

Not sure why, but all your image files have Xs on them. Not currently available. Would love to see them. Can anyone help?
It's because all those early images were on Photobucket and are no longer there. You can see all the build processes on my article in Large Coops called Clutch Hutch.

Because this thread is so old and the photos no longer there, I'm going to just lock it.
Thanks, Fred.
