my duck eggs develope halfway and then rot

What's your temp and humidity during incubation? Did you calibrate your thermometer(s) and hygrometer(s)? How old were the eggs you set? How often do you turn them? Did you sterilize the bator well before you started? How the health of the parent flock? How porous are the eggs, if at all?

There are SO many things that can mess up a hatch. So, we need to know what you've got going on.

Sorry you're loosing so many. I haven't had much luck incubating my Silkie eggs this year either. My hens hatch them just fine, so its gotta be me :/

Temp 37 to 38
Hidity 53 to 65
Oldest eggs 3 days old
No I didnt sterlise the bator I just added them in as I had chicken eggs in it.
No they were not porous they were mucuse thick.
I did from time to time sprinkle them with water but just 1 per day. I heard that I shouldn't so I am not doing it for this next lot

I was able to successfully hatch shipped muscovy eggs a few years back. I kept my temp at 99.5. Humidity was around 40% and I misted them with warm water every time I turned then around 3 times per day. I haven't tried to hatch any since then because my ducks do it for me. I have seen so many posts regarding problems hatching them so I might try it again with some of my home eggs to see if I get the same luck.

My guess is that the humidity in the incubator should be fine- I would stop the misting. Duck eggs tend to be on the "messier" side of things and misting could only enhance a bacterial/fungal infection making its way inside the egg. If you keep that water off of the egg the bacteria has a harder time transporting inside the egg. It takes just a few days for a bacterial infection to wreck havoc...

The other problem that I would check is candling. Make sure to remove ALL eggs that are not developing by about day seven... leaving them in the incubator will make problems worse. Look for a few eggs that you can tell are alive and well and compare. Remove any clear eggs by day seven, leave the questionable ones a few days more if you can't decide.

Best wishes! Egg hatching is both fun and STRESSFUL if you care about those little birds!
