All u profession hatchets out there HELP!

I have been doing mixed batches of eggs all season in my incubator, with no lock down at all... Not doing lock down is simply not a death sentence in the least... I do bump the humidity on hatch day but then let it fall back down after that and have seen no adverse effect on eggs at earlier stages... Fact is humidity is not constant in the wild and the bird has little ability to control it, if it's raining all week with 100% humidity there is no way the eggs under a brooder bird are not getting exposed to that high humidity that entire week, and there is no way for the brooder bird to realistically 'bump' the humidity up for the last few days, as if they can even count and know the day when the eggs are due, not that is why you can slave brooders to hatch eggs from other species and even stay broody for an entire season clutch after clutch as long as you don't let the eggs hatch under her...

The guidelines for incubators are just that guidelines that people have found work, they are not hard fast rules or laws...

With that said, I finally did break down and build a second incubator just for hatching, just did it two days ago in fact... I had all the parts laying around except for the water heater thermostat that cost $9 locally... But even if I had to purchase the parts it would have been under $30... Now I personally would not use this as my primary incubator as the water heater thermostat has a swing of about 4° F (cycles between 98° and 102°) but it's good enough for the last few days of incubation for me...
