I think my leghorn is trying to drive me crazy

She layed her first egg on July 13th. No egg the 14th, 15th an egg, the 16th an egg but later in the day. Now it's been 2 days with no eggs. I check often because I love finding an egg but nothing. :( I think she is messing with me.

One of my leghorns is doing that to they both laid there first eggs on the same day 3 days ago then only one yesterday and one so far today. And it the same one has laid all 3 days. The other is being a snot!
 
She better lay today. I told her she was going to be dinner :D Hopefully that will wake her up. Some of my other hens are getting really red combs so hopefully I will start having more lay eggs soon. Good luck with yours ;)

It is usually very warm here but the last few days have been cooler. Ohio weather is unpredictable. One day 90's next day 70's :/ All the girls have been going up in the coop today. Usually they stay down in the run. They are just trying to mess with me :p I just get too excited when I see an egg.:celebrate
 
Alright the other one just laid! So two eggs to day my barred rocks sex-links and buff orphingtons need to stop being free loaders now! How big are your eggs?

Mine are about 1/4 the size of a store large egg
 
Mine still hasn't laid today. So that's no egg for 3 days now. The eggs (which has only been 3) are very small. I will post a picture if I can.

That's my husbands hand which is big so her eggs a very small.
 
I agree with above, if she is only just starting to lay then it ill take some time for her to get her body into a rythem to lay consistently. Since it take more than 24 hours on average to lay an egg then that's why it might be one in the morning then the next day it could be an afternoon egg. @michael1003 your Barred rocks and Orpingtons are heavy breeds ( assuming you don't have a bantam type) and they will take much longer to beef up, mature and grow before they start laying so it might be a while before you get eggs from them
