My daughter hatched cornish cross chicks as a 4-H project and they keep killing each other. I thought it was because they didn't have enough room, so I let them out to run tin the coop, and the pen. This morning I went in and another had been pecked to death. How do I figure out who the mean one is so I can keep it away from the the others. At this rate I am not going to have any to eat. Help.

How many do you have and what age? Were the ones that got killed weak? Is it possible the birds died and then the others started to peck at it? Cornish X seem to have a pretty high mortality rate when they are chicks.

They are about 20 days old. Several of them I could tell were trying to get away. I had 11 and as of this morning I had 6.

Wow, that sounds like quite a problem.I'm not sure how to find the bully other than by watching them. Maybe some one with more experience will chime in on this one.
