Hi everyone! I've been stalking this forum for a while, I guess I should introduce myself :)

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I consider myself new, this is our second summer with layers, first with meaties.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
25. 20 cornish crosses, and 5 various egg layers.

(3) What breeds do you have?
CX's, and who knows... I got my 5 ladies from a woman that ordered a combo package and had too many. I'm pretty sure I have a buff orphington and a road island red, maybe an australorp a plymoth rock, and a leghorn? I really am just guessing... you tell me ;)

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? google searching...

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? right now it's pigs and chickens. I'm also looking into bee keeping. I would like goats, but my hubby says no..

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am 26, and married with four children, ages 7,6,5 &3. We have 1 cat, 2 dogs, 3 pigs, 25 chickens, four apple trees and a garden. I am a math teacher, my husband is a mechanic.

Sounds like you have a nice flock there!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Cute flock, would guess you have a Red Sex Link (Red Star, Golden Comet etc) reddish bird closest to the camera in the middle, the white could be a Leghorn or a White Plymouth Rock maybe looks a little hefty for a Leghorn, the black and white laced bird you can't see the head on looks like it might be a Silver Laced Wyandotte, the black could be an Australorp (feet are pink/white on bottom?) and X2 on the Buff Orpington.
CornishX at least taste good!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

You have a lovely flock! This is the place to be when you own poultry.

Great that you could join our community and welcome to our flock!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. You have some beautiful layers. It appears you have (from left to right) a White Plymouth Rock, Black Australorp, Red Sex Link, Buff Orpington, and Silver Laced Wyandotte. How old are your Cornish Cross? They are meat birds that should be butchered at 8-10 weeks. If you wait much longer than that, they begin to develop all kinds of health problems due to their abnormally fast growth. If you have any questions, feel free to ask us. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
