I've 19 speckled Sussex and 4 guinea, all the same age. A mystery bird (or more?) has runny poop. Very liquid-y. Medium darkish in color. I've been seeing this for a good while now (birds are 8 weeks on Aug 4). Was hoping I would stop seeing it, but it still appears. We feed medicated starter/grower. On occasion will give an overgrown cuke and they get a mealy worm treat twice a day (two handsful).

Should I be concerned about this runny poop and if so, how does one begin to ferret out which bird has the runny poop. They are quite large already and don't cotton to being picked up. They run to me for treats, but picking up is a bit upsetting to them. And the guinea. . . oy. Once you put one down, how do you know if that's one you've checked??? Thanks.

Chickens have two kinds of poop that are normal. One is the regular stuff you're used to seeing. Brown with some white in it. A clump. But there's another kind of poo called Cecal droppings. It's yucky. It's sort of a very loose pudding consistency, and it's a rusty brown color to dark brown. It's sticky and stinky. But it's OK. Nothing to worry about.

I think that's what you're seeing.

Yup, that sounds exactly like what I'm seeing. Perfect. I'll rest easier now. THANK YOU!

You are quite welcome!
