My broody has hatched 6 out of 10 eggs, and has now got up and left the nest.. but one has started to hatch and she won't go sit back on it.. I figure I have a few options.. leave it to die, try and scoop her back on, which i did but within minutes she was off and showing her others how to fed etc, put said egg under a different hen who went broody 2 days ago and when hatched put back in with original mum, but risk her pecking it as she didn't hatch it.. or peal it, which I really don't want to do as tried that before on incubated eggs and never ends good.. I have currently shut up all doors in there and it is dark, I have rolled the peeping egg to her as she is now sitting in the opposite corner to her failed eggs and this peeping egg, I have no idea if she will stay on it.. any advice please..

You can try putting it under your other broody, but I don't know how well she'll take to it. If you do, and it hatches, you can slip it back under the original hen after dark. There is probably a reason she's not accepting this one. How long ago did the others hatch?

Well I managed to roll it under her, at least push it under with a broom end, hens a mean girl and would have your hand off if you tried to put it under.. she seems to be still on it since I shut out all light, so will see if it hatched tomorrow morning.. 3 hatched yesterday and the other three this morning.. the 7th was in the process of hatching when she decided that she'd sat long enough.. the other chicks were running about and i just think she wanted to be with them and not on her eggs.. shame as they might all have hatched..
