Rescued some chickens. They are finally healthy enough to try to figure out what they are. Barred Rocks?? They seem to have longer legs then my past BR roosters. I believe they are about 6mos old.

The one with the smaller comb is growing a rooster tail but hasn't got much comb yet. Not a roo? I have not heard either crow. They have thicker legs and longer legs then my Dom rooster.

Those are both hatchery barred Rock roosters. One bird is either just younger than the other, or slower to mature. But they're both undoubtedly males.

Not really. I've had hens kick a new rooster up one side of the coop and down the other. Fighting proves absolutely nothing. Light color in a barred bird, hackle and saddle feathers, however, say they're both males.
