Hello all! I wanted to start a thread to were all of us could sit and talk about the breed of orpingtons and colors or colours of the orps and their genetics!!

What I have/breed:
Black English Orpingtons-
2 Roos
1 hen

Red English Orpingtons:
2 Roos
1 hen

Blue English Orpingtons
0 Roos
2 hens

American buffs
0 Roos
2 hens

I am working on a (Blue Laced Red Orpington) until my Black English Orp Roos mature then I'm gonna work hard to expand my (Blue & Black Orp flocks) and I'm working hard to expand my (Red English Orp flock) and I'm gonna get rid of one of my red roos and my American buffs!! Then I'll be working to expand my color diversity and gene pools!! I'm working hard to get a flock of Mottled orps going!!!

Hi there!
I have two bantam orpintons and they are such brilliant chickens! It took me quite along time to tame them but they are really friendly birds! If anyone is going into chickens keeping i highly recommend them!

I'm in!

I have:
Chocolates
1 roo
2 hens
(these are successfully hatching!)

Gold Laced
1 just hatched
2 in bator
4 more eggs for next hatch

Silver Laced
3 chicks from one breeder to pick up in early may
2 chicks from another breeder arriving in early may

Spangled
currently hatching and 5 eggs for next hatch

Buffs
2 hens

Lemon LAced
These are a diluted project. I bought 10 eggs that go in Wednesday
This breeder gave me 2 lavender over Gold laced eggs. I have no idea what this pair of recessive genes will turn out. I am very interested in the Dun gene and working with it to create new colors!

Lavender
6 eggs go in Wednesday

Blue/Silver
These are project eggs I purchased that go in Wednesday

Eggs ON ORDER
Lemon Cuckoo
Blue cuckoo (super excited to have these for breeding!)

As you can see I am just getting started in these projects. My Blue roo died suddenly last year as I was about to breed him, BUT I am not buying blues for some time and focusing on current projects, especially Silvers and chocolates with their variations.
