So I went to check the chicken's water today right before leaving for work (about 2 pm) and found 3 TINY eggs!!

I was shocked because I wasn't really expecting them to start laying so soon! I actually haven't got any nesting boxes yet because I wasn't expecting them to lay yet (but the BF said he'd get on top of that tomorrow with the exciting new development!). My only concern is I've got a terrible memory and can't exactly remember when I last did a full check on them. Today being Friday I am almost certain I at least peeked to see if they had food and water yesterday... but that was it, just a peek, so I'm not entirely sure how long they have been in there. I did see them right away today, so I would assume that if they were there yesterday I would have seen them but I'm just not 100% on it. I know for a fact it hasn't been a whole week since I was actually in and looking around the whole coop, so I was just wondering if they will still be okay? It has been quite warm here so I don't know if that pays into it at all??

haha I just did the math and they are about 19 weeks old so that would be about right that they are laying now! Time flies when you aren't counting the weeks I guess!

Congratulations on the first eggs. I wish I could answer your question but we are all new to raising chickens. Hopefully someone will be able to help with your question.:)

I keep my eggs on the counter all the time, so they should be fine...unless it's 90+ degrees in your coop.
You really should take a good look at the chooks, their environment and gather eggs once a day.
