First egg!!!

Saturday we got two eggs and today we got four! All four girls appear to be laying. We had a fabulous breakfast yesterday thanks to them. One of the eggs was a double yoke!

Soon you will have enough for quiche!

Okay, my 20 week old Dominique did the egg song last week and she is going back and forth from the nesting box to parts of the coop laying down and panting. She left the coop about 11 when the rooster called her and had some water and looked like she was sort of walking it off, but still straining while standing. She's never laid an egg. She's back in the coop now laying and panting. Is she going to lay? Or is she egg bound. I should mention also it is a very hot day.

Dang that omelette looks good, and I don't even like eggs! XD

How old was she when she laid that? Wobbles is 3 months old as of yesterday, and I've begun giving her a little bit of oyster shell, just in case. I can't help but feel bad for the poor things when they first lay, they must have NO clue what's going on. I know I'd be surprised and mildly panicked if I suddenly dropped a gigantic rock-like thing out of my body! Same thing for when they first begin to fledge, it's obviously itchy and up until then all they had to deal with was fuzz. :p Maybe I'm projecting too much. I dunno.
