Ok I feel the chicks are ready to move in with the big girls. Shoul I move them just before dusk? Also do I just pop them in the run or in the house in a nesting box maybe?

I'm worried the big girls may attack them. They. Have been side by side the big girls for a couple of weeks so they could see each other

good that theyve been side by side. I keep them like that for at least 4 weeks. How old are chicks? I wait 8-10 weeks. And I add them at night. So they all wake up together! They will peck it's natural. Just keep an eye on it and make sure no blood or anything. I mean everyone does it differently, that's just what I do!

They are approx 10 weeks old whittychick . I am thinking about moving their little house and run inside the main run so they Can mix with the big girls but have space where they can retreat to that the big girls can't reach.

Oh that's a great idea if you're able to do it! I tried but there wasn't enough space. I know they'll figure it out just takes time!! Let us know how it goes :)

Does anyone know any information on chicken hawks? My chicks were playing around in the backyard and my dad said he saw a chicken hawk flying around and it got our smallest one rose. I'm not sure of what they look like or anything so I would like to so if I see one again we can get it taken care of

Plan to keep your birds in a safe coop and run for a week or three to encourage the hawk to move elsewhere. So sorry about your bird! In the USA all raptors are protected and can't be harassed or killed; don't know about your situation. Another source of information would be falconers, if there are any in your area. mary

We had a storm this week and which resulted in over 18 hrs of rain the chicks little hut got completely flooded so had to take it away they went into the big hen house and we haven't had a single problem. It's been fantastic merging the girls.

It's been beautiful weather today so I've been outside all day and it's been a pleasure to see all the hens happy together.

Thanks to everyone for the awesome advice.
