Help - mama hen threw baby out!!!!!!

Sorry about your chick not making it. I wonder if that is the reason the mom threw it out, maybe she knew something was wrong with it in the first place.
My broody hatched a chick yesterday and I found it dead next to her. I think she may of killed it. She had another egg that had pipped and I took it away from her and let another broody hatch it.
It is hard to know what happens with these chicks sometimes.
