Hi all! I have found BYC so very helpful!

Unfortunately my first post was about my easter egger Matilda passing away yesterday, and I'm currently treating the rest of my flock of 8 remaining chickens. 2 ameracunas, 5 easter eggers, and 1 spash polish. Daisy is my favorite chicken, she's so smart and makes little honking sounds when it's time for everyone to go inside to the coop. She also talks to me the most. Jeannette is my only laying chicken, she's 13 months old and is not laying regularly atm, due to the coccidosis(sp?)?

I'm trying to add on more coops and runs, as chicken math took over.

We've spent the last day in tears over Matilda. If I lose another chicken I will be so devastated. They love to come up and eat out of my hands, be it mealworms or weeds. Of course mealworms being favored!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm sorry about the loss of Matilda. It's always sad to lose one of our birds. Very few of us are immune to chicken math.) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Hi and :welcome

sorry to hear about Matilda. One does get quite attached to the chickens over time. I hope the rest of your flock recovers!
