Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Yes, sometimes even after locking them in for a few days, there are a couple of birds that love to give you a hard time at night! I can remember chasing some around as they do run fast!! LOL But they eventually get it figured out and go in by themselves. Let them grow up a bit and they will be easier to deal with. I found that luring them in with a plate of seeds or food got even these stragglers inside at night.

Enjoy this new adventure you are on and welcome to our flock!

Glad you joined us! You have 7 roosters and 5 hens? Those roosters are going to cause problems when they start maturing... Ideally you should keep 10-12 hens per rooster, except if you keep breeding pairs. With more than one rooster and not enough hens to go round the roosters are going to fight each other, over breed the hens and possibly injure them as well, unless you keep them separated.

I am with Micheal on this one. I had several RIR roos and they were flat out vicious ....but tastey! Keep in mind though that this is hatchery stock, if you were to find a breed of heritage RIR's you would get a competely different bird. If given the choice I would say go with the Orpingtons, you are much more likely to get a docile roo.
