I have an adult hen who is showing signs of a respiratory infection. I also have a rooster, 3 other hens and two juveniles who seem to be fine so far. I purchased
Tetracycline Hydrochloride Soluble Powder It says this package contains 10 g of tetracycline hydrochloride activity.
to add to their water.
Instructions read: for CRD Air Sac Disease: Use powder in the drinking water at a drug level of 400-800 mg per gallon per day. for Infectious Synovitis: Use powder in the drinking water at a drug level of 200-400 mg per gallon per day.
Any advice on how to proceed?
I wish it would give directions that read more like "add 1 tbsp powder to 1 gallon drinking water" etc or something like that.
My hen makes a gurgling sound when she pants. (Not as noticeable in the morning when it's cooler. More noticeable when it's hot outside.)
Also, am I correct in assuming that we shouldn't consume their eggs for 2 weeks after completing treatment?
