Hi all, my name is Bud and I own chickens. All my life I wanted to have chickens I love watching them play and hunt and peck. I also love fresh eggs man are they good. Well after 46 years I now have my chickens the County I live in had it fixed that you had to have 3 acres of land to have chickens. Just this last year they changed that to 1/2 acre and I have 1.08 acres so I got busy saving money to build. My cousin that lives next door got going first so he hatched some of his eggs for meat but I got 4 of them they are about 14 weeks old and are growing very well. I will be posting pics as I can I am disabled so I do things as I can. That’s about it I think if it’s ok I will post a link to a video I did about my chickens I did for friends on YouTube. If this is a problem let me know and I will remove the link. Looking forward to being apart of the community.

Make yourself at home here and if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Welcome to our flock!

You can post a Youtube video in your post by clicking on the filmstrip icon at the top of the box where you type in your post, then copy in the link. Your video will then show up in your post.

Welcome to BYC, Bud! Glad you decided to join our flock. It was a very nice video. You might want to consider putting hardward cloth over the chicken wire on your coop as there are a lot of predators that can either tear through chicken wire or pass through the openings in the mesh. Hardware cloth has saved many chicken owners a lot of tears. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Thanks for the info I might just do that. Thanks for all the welcomes this will be fun to learn about chickens.
And I will try the film strip thing on my next post about my fodder testing in the next few days thanks everyone.
Bud
