OK, best I start to do some catch up here in this post...then on to newer news...
Start with the trucker escapades first...
Plate done up for the newest Suburban...
So we all know the glam and glitz that Rick does when he pimps out a vehicle...snapped this pic because we had the 1989 one ton out...
This unit started here as a cab and chassis...so this was how it has been done up and rigged out. Pimped out as some may label it.
This morning because it is like twenty below...Rick has gone off to a wreckers to see what is salvageable from a suburban they have. Suspect he will return with some treasures...thinking of changing the back bumper to a more original chromed one, need a large wing nut (hmm...I might suit that handle some dazes, eh!) for securing the spare tire on a rim we have purchased, he may bring home a middle seat too. The 60% side was not there (the 40% side is in the 88 unit). This new old 60% middle seat is tan in colour and not blue like in both our suburbans...I am on the hunt now to find good saddle blanket material and whisk the new sewing machine into action to make up some matching seat covers...if'n I can find the saddle blanket material that is. Yesterday's trip to the city to one fabric store netted nada in the proper vehicle type seat covering material I may have to hunt hard on the Net to find some and dare to order some up. Oh and do note...we have tried to purchase the premade seat covers...got two for the front seat but am told because of the age of the two suburbans...the patterns were thrown away by the one company that manufactures the vehicle seat covers...golly, eh. NOT that old...30 years I suppose, but not DEAD YET!
So here is the unit as it progresses along...note the colour of the front side mirrors in this shot as they arrived here...spray painted white and not too nicely.
New tires on rims...new chrome lug nuts (me luv the colour chrome!), black coloured caps...
So do look above the back wheel in the front before it and see the sneaky puckered paint...the bubbling...which we are hoping is only surface rust at this point!!
So the good news on the bubbled paint and rusty evidence...where is the truck today...at the body shop. Rick and I made the convoy yesterday morn to drop the 1988 Sub off at the body shop for her sand down to bare metal, touch ups all over her body on paint chips (some are already that rusty red colour...eek!)...the unit gets a nice rock guard type paint coating and we both decided to leave the body white and not do it up in black. So other than there being a different SURFACE to the bottom area on the body, the truck will remain white for now. We both think the truck was originally a Chev grey silver type colour from the door jamb and interior painted areas...but fur now, she stays white. This is the winter truck and to keep it looking sharp and clean, white really really does hide the dust and dirt better than say an all black truck (or silver grey in this case!). So if'n we ever want to repaint the truck completely, figure Rick will vote for the original grey if we do that in future.
So while at the body shop, off comes the two side steps, the back bumper (might go to original chromed one as said), the mudflaps and the rock guard and surface rust gone away and paint on it. That frees her up to have the shiny chrome checker plated running boards (sitting in the Man Porch awaiting her return and warmer weather) put on, the front and back mudflaps (backordered at this time), chrome extensions for the duo exhaust (have one, backordered the second one) and lots of purdy things like driving lights on the chrome license plate holder on the front.
Amongst a host of things like running board lights, back light bar, etc.
Note that Rick has heisted a set of stainless side mirrors...on the unit and lookin' swanky!
This is Rick's baby to play with and it is kewl to watch him at work (or is that playing??).
Dec 23, 2015
OK...next some clicks of the dog play times...snow has fallen on and off...which of course makes for AWESOME play time for the gals.
Dec 21, 2015 - Emmy being a "carcass"
Dec 23, 2015 - Emmy being run over...
Lacy getting attacked by Emmy - Oh we so wonder why, eh??
Lace-a-lot - Dec 25 2015
Emmest - Dec 27 2015
OK...time to post some Christmas escapades...
Girls in Garlands...festive Christmas fun...
Note that some of the Christmas clicks have sparkly sparkle glitters in the snow...happens naturally and is ever so kewl eh!
Play time started off pretty calmish...
But regular fans of the girls know better...it won't last now will it??
All it takes is one girl to play bow and next thing we know...racing begins...
Evil Emmy, lookit the look...she's up to NO good and Lacy looks at me as if to say, "Not me this time...not ME!"
Lacy's screams echo thru out the Valley... "SPINE BITE!"
Let's dodge the rest of the carnage and move on to the Christmas dinner that awaited us...
As some of the fans here know...my son has a banner for bacon on his wall...why,,,why not?
Something about everyone has to believe in something and the reply is, "I believe I will have another slice!" or some such thing? We knew he liked the calendar the girl dogs got him because it was hung immediately upon the wall!
Dinner was excellent and everyone ate their plates clean!
Dessert was tres interesting and involved the primal man thing called FIRE!
Note the t-shirt my son has on...the cat on it appears to be watching the flame do horrid burnings to dessert...all turned out delish though!
Even Cookie the C@t sat at the table to watch the dinner proceedings!
So I do declare I think that about catches me up fer Christmas festivities had and enjoyed...well kinda!
Doggone & Chicken UP!
