I'm new to this site but I love it already
I have had my flock of chickens for a bit now and this is what my flock consists of
4 x isa brown hens
2 silver Wyandotte ( 1 roo,1 hen) hen should be laying soon
2 silver polish laced (1 roo , 1 hen)- hen should be laying soon
2 Americauna hens
2 buff silkies ( 1 roo, 1 hen)
2 buff Orpington hens
2 australorp hens
1 6 week old bearded white silkie chick( unknown sex)
We are currently getting 2-7 eggs a day
I'm totally obsessed with my chickens and have even ordered an incubator
My husband thinks I'm a little nuts

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. We are all obsessed with chickens here. You have a great mix of breeds. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed; very hardy, calm and gentle, and the best layers of the standard, brown egg laying breeds; and Isa Brown are wonderfu,l hybrid, egg laying machines. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

That's a lot of roosters - do you intend to have breeding pens to keep the breeds true? IF so you have to make sure other roosters can't sneak in and breed the hens, or you will have mixed breeds and they may not sell well.

it is several roosters isn't it. We are not going to be hatching anything out probably till the spring so at that point we will decide if we will cross breed or like you said have seperated pens for breeding. we dont have any intention of selling anything a this point but may change our mind by then... right now we are just enjoying the selection of what we have
