I am looking for snowflake quail. Is there anything special that you need to do with chicks other than gamebird starter, clean water.. that you need.. and yes a clean pen. Thanks

They are bobwhites so raise them the same as you would norther bobwhites or any other bobs. The only exception is that the colored mutations of bobwhite tend to be even more aggressive than northerns so be careful. Bobwhites become cannibalistic very easily and if you've never raised game birds are not by any means an easy bird to start with. That doesnt mean they are impossible but you will need to do plenty of research and stay ahead of their aggression and cannibalism.

Here is a paper on raising bobs.

Hey Tony, if you'd find out what he has available that would be great I can fit either a pair or a trio right now. Eggs would work too if his birds are still on. I gave my last pair of bobs to a kid for his FFA project and I've been missing their call since.

By the time season rolled around this year I was down to just coturnix and a few chukars. Then a raccoon ate most of those....So I've spent all summer trying to refill my coturnix pens.

How are all the pheasants doing this year?

Don

Hi Don,
He has pairs and extra males.I sent you a pm with price and his number.I told him I would pass his number onto you.
The pheasants are doing great.I have around 70 young ones left, mostly red and yellow goldens.I did hatch 20 lewis silvers from 2 breeding pairs. The younger pair hatched 17 of 18 eggs, and the older 3 from 8.
I am in the market for a pair of cheers.Do you have any for sale?Or know someone that has them?

Hey Tony, I just got from a fishing trip sorry I missed this.

That is a great hatch, hope you have some years left in those silvers, seems like they are cranking them out for you. As for cheers I'll ask around but it's a long shot in my area. They would be a cool addition to a collection though, are they tough to raise? I wish we'd had this conversation a couple weeks ago I could have swung by the bird show in Paso Robles and asked around among the real pheasant keepers.

Also I don't think your PM came through if you get a minute could you resend it?

Thanks

Don
