She's an Australorpe laying hen +/- 8 months old and her chest is sunken, her black feathers have strange white flecks and she doesn't move around much. She's stopped eating and drinking. We've been using a sports bottle and various vitamin/salt solution to keep her going. We de-flead all the chickens 2 months ago and last week. She's been inside for 2 days now. She also seems a bit lopsided. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Could you take a photo of her strange white flecked feathers and post it here? It could just be a stage that her feathers are going through, but who knows. Do you feel any lumps/swelling anywhere on her body? Have you ever wormed your chickens? I'm sorry for so many questions, but answering them might help me diagnose your hen's problem.

Right now, she needs to get eating some solid food. See if she'll eat some scrambled eggs, bread, moistened chicken feed, mealworms, or other favorite treats. If not, you need to find a way to get food into her. Tube feeding would be preferable, but some people just open a bird's beak and shove food into it. That works okay, though it is labor consuming. Water is also important. You can keep using a sports bottle, or use a syringe/eyedropper. Put some vitamins in the water, but be careful to not overdose with the vitamins.

Thanks for all your concern but our precious hen has passed away

Is there any way you can do a necropsy on her yourself, or have her sent off to be examined? I know it can be hard to necropsy your own bird (I did it earlier this year), but if you still have the body, it can be educational, and somewhat relieving, to finally know what was wrong.
